It's been a prolific month for #SessionsFamily projects! If you haven't caught up with our January client releases, you can check them out here. The second half of January sees even more exciting, eagerly anticipated titles hitting your home screens. Here's what's coming for the rest of this month and it's a doozy!

Poker Face

Poker Face

Release date: Jan. 26, 2023

How to watch: Peacock; trailer

Why to watch: Is there currently a hotter combination than Rian Johnson and Natasha Lyonne? Johnson's love of cheeky crime-solving gumshoes dates back to the wonderful Brick. He then veered into scifi mystery with Looper (with a minor detour into a little project called Star Wars), only to head back to the genre with Knives Out and its recently released sequel.

Lyonne is sublime casting - her worldweary persona, equal parts sardonic and empathetic, that she perfected in Russian Doll (another #SessionsFamily title) is the ultimate vehicle for Johnson's dialogue. The title is not an homage to Lady Gaga's earworm but to the fact that Lyonne's character is blessed (or cursed) with the ability to sniff out when someone's lying just by looking at them. The mystery-of-the-week series has an absolute dynamite guest cast with EEAAO breakout Stephanie Hsu, Johnson's frequent muse Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lyonne's frequent muse Chloe Sevigny, both Pearlmans (Ron and Rhea), Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bratt and Adrien Brody, among others. Rolling Stone has a great article on the series that should whet your already big appetite for this must-see series.

Teen Wolf: The Movie

Teen Wolf: The Movie

Release date: Jan. 26, 2023

How to watch: Paramount+; trailer

Why to watch: The continuation of the very popular Teen Wolf MTV series which aired for six seasons sees the majority of the cast (minus Dylan O'Brien and Arden Cho) reuniting to stop the deadliest enemy the shapeshifters have ever faced. Star Tyler Posey returns as Scott McCall, alongside Tyler Hoechlin, Colton Haynes, Crystal Reed and Shelley Hennig. The film was written by series creator Jeff Davis and directed by frequent series director Russell Mulcahey, and should have long-waiting fans howling at the moon.

Wolf Pack

Wolf Pack

Release date: Jan. 26, 2023

How to watch: Paramount+; trailer

Why to watch: Jeff Davis had a very busy year with not only the release of his Teen Wolf: The Movie (see above!), but developing new series Wolf Pack, based on the books by Canadian author Edo van Belkom. Wolf Pack is not only notable for Davis returning to the genre that gave him a permanent invite to Comic Con but because it will see the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar, the beloved icon who previously slayed vampires as Buffy Summers. Gellar stars alongside Rodrigo Santoro and a pack of up-and-coming stars including Armani Jackson and Bella Shepard.

You People

You People

Release date: Jan. 27, 2023

How to watch: Netflix; trailer

Why to watch: Director/co-writer Kenya Barris (Blackish) teams with star/co-writer Jonah Hill to upend race relations in this spin on Guess Who's Coming To Dinner. The cast alone is worth watching for; seeing Jonah Hill, David Duchovny and the brilliant Julia Louis-Dreyfus spar with Lauren London, Nia Long and legend Eddie Murphy will be comedy gold. With Barris behind the camera, expect comfortable laughs to mask uncomfortable truths.
